The heading block allows you to add headings to your post.
You’ll find the heading block under text blocks:
You can set a heading within the block:
Or you can choose a heading level from within the heading block settings from the right side panel.
Heading Block Settings
In the right panel, you’ll find a choice of font sizes for your heading or the ability to set a custom size. You’ll also find the ability to set a custom text or background color.
And, just as with all blocks, you can set a custom CSS class for the block.
Why use a heading block?
Organizing your posts using various header levels is good for SEO and also helps with readability as people tend to scroll through blog posts looking for the content they want vs. sitting down for a good, long read as with an essay in a print article or book.
Still, you can always choose to disregard using headings if it’s appropriate for your individual piece regardless of what your SEO plugin might tell you.
Tip: Reserve the H1 heading level for your post title. Use H2 and below for sections of your post.
